With only weeks to go until late 87th Academy Awards, plenty of London cinemas are either still showing or bringing back screenings of the main Best Film contenders, but the Barbican cinema is handily showing all the nominees (including shorts) in one week after the ceremony (which is on February 22nd).
As the Barbican say in their latest email:
27 Feb–4 Mar, Cinema 2
We’re excited to announce that Oscar® Week is on sale today, from 10am.
See American Sniper, Birdman, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Selma, The Theory of Everything and Whiplash, plus this year’s nominated Live Action Shorts, all in one glorious week of fantastic films.
To celebrate, make it a champagne screening with a glass of Prosecco or champagne from £5; eat cupcakes adorned with the beautiful faces of your favourite nominees; take part in some super competitions; and make the ultimate entrance and walk down our own red carpet, complete with a pretty spectacular 7ft Oscar statue.
It’s a week where you can catch up on anything you’ve missed, see your favourite once again, and mark the biggest event in the film calendar. So, once you’ve decided what to see, the only question is…what are you wearing?
