The LIAF is an annual celebration of animation based across several London venues, and 2014 is its tenth anniversary. The programme is broad, covering abstract animation; animated features; British animation; retrospectives; and music videos. Those wanting oddities can enjoy the 'Late Night Bizarre' strand. There will also be masterclasses; workshops; special guests; animation industry events; and if you miss the individual strands there is a handy 'Best of the Festival' roundup.

The festival runs from October 24 - November 4 2014. The LIAF: Opening Gala is titled "McLaren's Influences", and explores the legacy of famed animator Norman McLaren. 6.20pm 24 Oct 14 at the Barbican.
