Tom Hardy plays both Ronnie (left) and Reggie Kray in Legend.

Continuing his self-appointed mission to never star in a film where he is not at minimum ten times larger than life, and wielding some kind of mask or exaggerated accent, Tom Hardy is now set to appear as both Kray Twins in Brian Helgeland's forthcoming biopic which is to start shooting this week.

Titled Legend, the crime thriller will explore the brothers reign of terror in 1960s gangland London. The cast also features Emily Browning, David Thewlis, Christopher Eccleston, Chazz Palminteri and Tara Fitzgerald. Hardy has tackled playing famous criminals before, starring as Charles Bronson in Nicolas Winding Refn's 2008 film Bronson.
