Edgar Wright no longer directing Ant-Man for Marvel due to 'creative differences'

Edgar Wright

This Variety news story did come as a real surprise, as Shaun of the Dead director Wright has been attached to the project for years, going through a number of drafts of the screenplay with Joe Cornish, working to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's plan of drawing all their various superhero movies together.

He was already in pre-production on the film, preparing to shoot with a cast that includes Michael Douglas, Paul Rudd, Patrick Wilson, Corey Stoll and Evangeline Lily. The film is planned for July 17, 2015 release date and apparently this will not be changed by this new development.
