Kathryn Bigelow returns to 9/11 milieu with True American

The Guardian and other outlets have an interesting story on how another 9/11 fallout plot appears to have got the attention of The Hurt Locker's  Kathryn Bigelow.

Tom Hardy is to take the lead in Bigelow's forthcoming feature True American. The film will be an adaptation of the book True American: Murder & Mercy in Texas, by Anand Giridharadas, which documents the true story of Rais Bhuiyan, a Bangladeshi who moved to the US to work in the technology sector. He became a victim of Mark Stroman, a Texan vigilante who went on a killing spree in the wake of 9/11. Bhuiyan was left blind in one eye by the attack.

Stroman was sentenced to the death penalty and executed by lethal injection, though Bhuiyan campaigned to spare his life.
