June 2016 Highlights:

Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Director’s Cut)- Kicking off the BFI's tribute to Steven Spielberg, this sci-fi classic returns for an exclusive run at BFI Southbank in a new 35mm print to 9 June.

Affirm! + Q&A with actor Teodor Corban, screenwriter Florin Lazarescu, and director, Radu Jude appearing via Skype- A constable and his son search for a runaway Roma in this much-praised original Romanian ‘western.’

 

Ghost in the Shell - the hugely influential 1995 cyberpunk anime from director Mamoru Ishii screens once more, a tribute to 25 years of distributor Manga Entertainment. Also screening is the 2015 Japanese update -Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie - from director Kazuya Nomura.
