The 13th London International Animation Festival returns from Friday December 2nd to Sunday December 11th – 10 packed days and nights of animation: shorts and feature films from across the globe.

The LIAF 2016: Opening Night Gala will be "The warped, wonderful and terrifying world of Chris Shepherd Q&A" on December 2, 2016 6:30 pm.
This year dozens of films will screen in official competition across several categories including 9 International Competition Programmes featuring the British Showcase, Into The Dark scary shorts, and New Japanese Shorts - Beyond Anime.
The 2016 short film competition showcases entries from a mix of Festival veterans and first-time competitors. Oscar nominees Koji Yamamura and Job, Joris and Marieke join LIAF favourites Igor Kovalyov, Theodore Ushev, Liz Hobbs, Phil Mulloy, Steven Subotnick, Vladimir Leschiov, Uri and Michelle Kranot, Priit Tender, Ulo Pikkov, Felix Massie, Tom Schroeder and Chris Shepherd as well as student work from all over the world.
There will also be 4 feature films playing, including Ann Marie Fleming’s Window Horses, The Longing of Michael Dudok de Wit, the 1945 Anime film Momotaro-Sacred Sailors and another super-secret feature .
There will also be special guests and archive programmes, including a 35mm run of Disney Classics Shorts – from the 1930’s featuring fan-favourite characters Micky Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto.
Those who want to see only the cream of the crop are recommended to go for the Best of the Festival on Saturday December 10 (repeat screening Sunday December 11) featuring the best films of LIAF 2016 as chosen by the panel of industry judges and audience votes.
