Voted as one of the top 100 film festivals in the world by filmmakers on FilmFreeway (voting on over 4,000 festivals), The Discover Short Film Awards and Festival takes place with public cinema screenings at the Phoenix Cinema (52 High Rd, London N2 9PJ) one of the oldest cinemas in the UK – on the 1st and 2nd October. It’s patrons include Mike Leigh, Ken Loach, Michael Palin and Mark Kermode. There are also online screenings for longer short films that many film festival won’t screen because of run-time (or subject matter) and exclusive networking events that bring together investors, distributors, film producers and media professionals including an awards ceremony on 2nd October at Stephens House & Gardens (17 East End Road, Finchley, London N3 3QE)
