Badlands Collective presents ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA - Restored Edition - UK CINEMA PREMIERE - Ritzy Brixton

24 May at 11:00, Ritzy Cinema.

Tickets and details here.

Finally, after years of waiting, Sergio Leone's epic meditation on the American gangster is available to audiences in a restored version courtesy of the Badlands Collective film club. This takes the running time to 4 hours plus, so buckle up!

From the Ritzy:

Back on the big screen with an extra twenty minutes of previously lost footage, director Sergio Leone’s gangster epic is one of the greatest and most beloved films of all time. Robert De Niro, James Woods, Elizabeth McGovern, Joe Pesci, Jennifer Connelly and Danny Aiello all star in a saga of Jewish-American friends growing up on the streets of New York, bonded and torn apart by dreams, conflicted loyalties, greed and fatal flaws.

Hauntingly told with evocative cinematography, an Ennio Morricone score and an elegant structure of flashbacks, Once Upon a Time in America represents the peak of Leone’s artistry while still delivering the thrilling pulp melodrama of his earlier spaghetti westerns.

Ritzy Picturehouse is proud to team with repertory curators The Badlands Collective to present the UK cinema premiere of this restored version.

[NB – The film will run 251 minutes and will play with a 10-minute intermission.]
