"Calling all Movie Geeks and Virtual Reality Pioneers. Let the Film do the Talking (LTFDTT) and The Creative Bubble are hosting the world’s first virtual reality film screening evening on Wednesday 29th April.

As a world premiere, our official selection of films can also be attended live in a “virtual reality movie theatre” powered by CINEVEO. The official selection, curated by Director Joseph A Strub for the popular @LTFDTT event, will be broadcast at two set times, to coincide with the real screenings at Roxy on the 4 Meter Cinema Screen.

If you can’t make it to the ROXY, owners of the Oculus Rift DK1 and DK2 will be able to purchase one of 400 passes for what will be the world’s first multi-streamed film screening in VR from anywhere in the world. Virtual reality headsets will be available on the evening but if you have a smartphone, you can avoid the queues on the night by downloading the below twoapps at the bottom of the page. On the night you will be lent a Freefly to view the demos in the comfort of your cinema seat.

Our VR Speaker, Jonathan Tustain, the co-founder of Freefly VR – a company focused on mobile phone powered immersive entertainment, writes for popular VR news website roadtovr.com and who runs the largest virtual reality community group in Europe will provide a primer talk about 360 productions, he will give an overview of what has been learnt so far and what challenges need to be resolved to make Virtual Reality cinema mainstream, plus a live link up to hosting platform Littlstar and Pixelwhipt about a new 360 show. This will be followed by two 360 demos.

PLUS for your viewing pleasure we’ve carefully handpicked a marvellous selection of short films that will make you smile and evoke the excitement of falling in love with cinema and film-making itself. Each film will be follow by a Q&A, a great time to discuss and comment on the films with their directors, who are the tomorrow’s talents of the UK film industry.

“Milk!” directed by Ben Mallaby, “BUS STOP” directed by Jamie Sims, “THE GOOD SON” directed by Tomisin Adepju, “MILLES FEUILLES” directed by Daria Panchenko, “COUNTRY ESCAPE” directed by Thomas Greader, “THE MAN WHO WALKED ON THE MOON” directed by Jenny Lu, “SANCTUARIO DEL COLLELL” directed by Boris Thompson-Roylance.

With an exciting programme for both passionate movie lovers and VR enthusiasts, ‘Let The Film Do The Talking’ (@LTFDTT), provides the best of both worlds! In association with the outstanding collective – The Creative Bubble, Freefly VR & Virtual Reality Cinema App CINEVEO, all together we are helping people make the impossible possible!

The Roxy Bar & Screen, which is our networking nest, is a great place to discover the future of films and enjoy our film selections, so come down, grab some food and a sofa, kick back and enjoy the evening.
