The 19th UK Jewish Film Festival will take place on 7-22 November 2015 at various London venues, bringing the best of contemporary Jewish cinema from around the world, to a diverse range of UK audiences.

The opening film this year is Closer to the Moon by director Nae Caranfil, a comic heist movie starring Mark Strong and Vera Farmiga, based on the true story of a group of Jewish friends and former Resistance members who set out to rob a bank while designing the heist to look like a movie shoot.

Audiences will also have a chance to see the highly acclaimed Son of Saul from Hungarian director László Nemes, which won the Grand Prix at Cannes earlier this year. Son Of Saul sheds light on the darkest of the dark stories: the Sonderkommando, Jews who were forced to do the cruelest work at Auschwitz-Birkenau and other Nazi extermination camps — before being murdered themselves.
