Duke Mitchell Film Club Presents : Welcome to 2015! (With a screening of STREET WARS, 7pm at Phoenix Artist Club)

The Duke Mitchell Film Club is getting 2015 off to a bang with an entirely free evening of trailers, short films, quizzes, oddities dug up from around the web and various car boot sales, and a screening of a bizarre-sounding cult film (the only kind of film the Duke is interested in) called Street Wars to top it all off. A DMFC event is always a strange, hilarious, and welcoming experience. Truly a film club like no other.

In the words of the always-excited Duke: "Tonight come and join us for the first Duke of 2015. We've got trailers, shorts, the amazing Street Wars and more! Phoenix Artist Club Doors 7PM Films Start 8PM FREE ENTRY!"

And as for what Street Wars promises:  "You may not know the name Jamaa Fanakaa yet but trust us – once you’ve seen his 1992 gangland epic ‘Street Wars’ ; you’ll never forget it! Imagine ‘Boys’n’The Hood’ filtered through exploitation sensibilities with a side-order of rebellious streak thrown in and you haven’t even begun to cover the brilliance of Fanakaa’s epic opus which includes betrayals, double-crosses, mad shootouts and even aerial assaults! Crack wars never looked so epic."
