Duke Fest Zero - Duke Mitchell Film Club

  • Duke Fest Zero London UK (map)

29 June - 2 July 2014.

Venues: Prince Charles Cinema and Phoenix Artist Club.

Tickets and information at the Duke Fest Facebook page and website.

London has plenty of film festivals, often it feels like at least ten are going on at once. But Duke Fest, run by the champion of film oddities known as the Duke Mitchell, is truly a festival like no other.

The first of it's kind from the fringe film club, Duke Fest promises: '4-nights of the most entertaining, enjoyable and downright strangest films and events we could think of.'

It has to be said, it's hard to think of anther film festival or club where you could catch My Name is Jonah, a film which promises the chance to meet the most mysterious icon ever to emerge from New York, a man who is at one a martial artist, an adventurer, a vigilante and an internet icon with a sideline in outrageous holiday cards. Or Strangers in Paradise, which boasts a time-travelling cryogenically frozen hypnotist trying to escape the evil Nazis by fleeing to the 1980s.

On top of that, Duke Fest promises 'premieres, special guests, a mystery trailer reel, a live translation by someone who doesn’t speak the film’s language and much much more.'
